MRCA Awards Program
MRCA provides members an opportunity to nominate colleagues for their excellence in the roofing industry by offering four award categories. These prestigious awards are presented at the Membership Meeting each year at the Annual Conference. Whether it’s contributions to the industry, innovative products, compliant safety program, or giving back to the community, companies and individuals deserve to be recognized for a job well done.
About the Awards
James Q. McCawley Award
James McCawley dedicated his life to the Roofing Industry. To honor his extensive contributions, MRCA established the James Q. McCawley Award. This award is given to an individual in recognition of their devotion to the roofing industry and is the most prestigious award given by MRCA. This award was first presented in 1969 and is a long-standing tradition of MRCA. To learn about the history of this Award and view a list of the previous award winner, click here.
2022 McCawley Award Recipients:
Jim Ramser
Mark Langer
This year’s honor was awarded to Jim Ramser of Highland Roofing Company.
Jim has over 42 years of experience in the roofing industry, and he is a 4th generation owner of what is now a 5th generation legacy company. His service to MRCA began over 25 years ago in 1998 and he served as MRCA President in 2011. Jim is currently the MRCA CERTA Chair.
This year's honor was also awarded to Mark Langer of Langer Roofing & Sheet Metal Co. Mark began his roofing career in his early teens, washing Langer Roofing trucks and working in the yard. After high school graduation, he began his journey as a “roofer” for several years. Mark was promoted to foreman and eventually superintendent. One day his father (A McCawley Award winner himself) called him into the office and told him to change his clothes and take the helm. Mark began volunteering his time to the MRCA Officially in 2011, but really never knew a life without MRCA due to his family’s involvement. He served as MRCA President in 2017 and remains active with MRCA in the Technical and Research Committee.
Congratulations to two very deserving Roofing Professionals!
