Presentation Proposal Submission Guidelines
LeadingAge Ohio urges submitters to take care as they develop content and identify speakers for proposed sessions. Proposals that are incomplete or submitted late cannot be considered.
- Highlight various perspectives and voices—including those informed by different lived experiences and professional backgrounds.
- Use preferred language and terminology to demonstrate familiarity with the aging services field.
- Use educational methods that foster meaningful interaction and participation from the audience.
- Focus on explaining what you do and its benefits to providers, without promoting specific products or services.
- Limit panels to no more than four speakers to allow meaningful contributions from each.
- Tailor content to the intended audience and describe the relevance for specific provider settings or professional roles.
- Avoid product-centered content; focus on approaches, practices, and lessons that support provider needs.
Submission limits - Individuals may submit up to two proposals and may also be listed as a speaker on proposals submitted by other organizations. Once submitted, proposals cannot be edited or supplemented. Proposals will not be accepted after the submission site closes; no extensions will be granted.
Human accountability for AI-generated proposals - Submitters may use artificial intelligence tools when developing proposals; however, all information—including titles, learning objectives, and descriptions—must be fully reviewed, verified, and retained by the individuals submitting the session. Because CE applications must match what was originally submitted, titles, objectives, and session descriptions cannot be changed after submission.
Clarity and specificity requirements - Proposals must be clear, detailed, and grounded in content that is meaningful to aging-services providers. Submissions that rely on vague or generic phrasing, including AI-generated language that lacks specificity or practical relevance, may not be considered for review.
Evaluation Criteria
A peer review committee of LeadingAge Ohio members, subject-matter experts, and association staff will evaluate proposals based on:
- Quality, clarity, and depth of content
- Relevance and applicability to aging-services providers
- Presentation methods that support learning
- Speaker expertise and diversity of perspectives
