One of the great traditions that became a part of HARDI is the Icebreaker held in conjunction with the annual International Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo). The AHR Expo moves to Chicago in 2009 and will be held at the McCormick Place North and South Halls, January 26-28. This year the Icebreaker will be held at the Hilton Chicago (HARDI Headquarters), 720 South Michigan Avenue in Chicago. A large number of HARDI members will also be staying at the Hilton Chicago. The Icebreaker on Sunday, January 25th, (5:30 pm to 7:30 pm), is typically attended by scores of distributors and suppliers and is a tremendous opportunity to get together with industry friends and associates prior to the Show’s opening on Monday. There is always plenty of fun and conversation for all attending. HARDI is pleased that we can still offer you a quality reception given the inflated pricing of a major metropolitan city. To give you the best value for your dollar the evening will include two drink tickets and heavy appetizers including a carving station of slow roasted beef, Thai Chicken and cashew spring rolls, miniature deep dish pizzas, creamy wild mushrooms in puff pastry, goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes on sour dough toast and, of course, a cheese display with fruit, nuts and French bread. HARDI has secured a block of rooms for members attending the AHR Expo. If you have attended the AHR Expo before, you are well aware of the demand for hotel accommodations. Why not make it easy on yourself and make your reservations early. Beginning Wednesday, May 21st, Travel Planners Inc. will accept reservations in the HARDI room block at the Hilton Chicago.
