HARDI, StartOver! Coalition Outline to Congress Why Healthcare Bill Should Not Pass
HARDI and 249 other trade associations comprising the StartOver! Coalition sent this letter to all members of the House of Representatives today outlining in detail why the reconciliation amendment, HR 4872, should be defeated when the House is expected to vote this Sunday. This bill is designed to amend HR 3950 which passed in the Senate just before Christmas. Unfortunately the House’s amendments fail to deliver any tangible health insurance cost savings while increasing taxes and penalties on businesses and individuals. The amended bill would also increase total costs of the reforms once fully implemented later this decade. As such, HARDI opposes this bill and its members have sent over 1,000 letters to Congress urging NO votes this weekend and a complete restart on healthcare reform. |
