HARDI Chair Urges Continued Fight Against Any Form of “Card Check”
Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA)
Chairwoman of the HARDI Government Relations Committee, Karen Madonia, Chief Financial Officer for ILLCO, Inc. headquartered in Aurora, IL has challenged all HARDI member companies to keep up or step up aggressive opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) or any form of compromise legislation intended to reduce the role of secret ballot votes by workers when deciding whether to organize as well as approving labor agreements. On the heels of recent statements by President Obama and key Senate vote, Senator Arlen Specter (PA), many opponents of EFCA who had believed that the bill had been defeated are now beginning to believe that the fight may have only just begun.
